Meet the Founders of GarWu Publications

Alea Garbagnati, Esq., CIPP/US, has extensive experience in the life sciences industry and is an active member of the privacy community, where she provides strategic counsel on privacy compliance, product privacy by design, research, and data strategy. She is an alumna of the University of California, Irvine (zot zot!), and the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly Hastings College of the Law).

Alea is passionate about finding practical and ethical solutions to support data use in health research and innovation and has co-authored articles and presented on the subject. 

Lauren Wu, Esq., CIPP/US, is a privacy and compliance consultant and industry influencer. She is a passionate privacy, regulatory, and compliance attorney, and proud enabler of ethical data stewardship to advance health innovation with extensive privacy experience. Lauren is an alumna of the University of Southern California (Fight on, Trojans!) and Northwestern University School of Law (Go Wildcats!). A former ballerina and USC football recruiter, Lauren enjoys cooking, wine, travel, gardening, and spending time with her husband and three beautiful and courageous daughters (one of whom could say "GDPR" before the age of 2).
